As you all know, these past few months have been a difficult, stressful and sad time in which a countless number of people and organisations have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that all of you and those dear to you are safe and well.
Unfortunately, the current situation leaves us little hope that the Autumn in Gamundia Weekend may actually take place from 23 to 25 October 2020. Current government regulations put a strict ban on dance events of that kind. It is highly unlikely that this situation will change during the next several months.
Scottish Country Dance is incompatible with restrictions on physical contact and distancing rules. Catering for a great number of people indoors also involves hazards regarding health and safety in respect of the corona virus. Our dance workshop and ball would have been a truly international event with participants from 11 different countries. But it would be quite impossible to trace all contacts made by over 100 persons (including dancers, teacher, musicians and organising team) in the critical weeks immediately following the event. During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic potential hot spots, such as an international dance event, are banned by law not only in Germany but in many other countries, too.
It is therefore with a very heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the Autumn in Gamundia Weekend 2020. Any payments already made by you will, of course, be refunded in full. Please bear with us if it takes a little while to process all re-transfers. And we will, of course, cancel all hotel reservations which we made on your behalf.
True to the German saying that “postponed is not abandoned” we are planning to host more Autumn in Gamundia Weekends in the future. The next event is projected for 28 to 30 October 2022. Details will be published nearer the time. Please join us then! We will be delighted.

Stay safe and well!
